Statistically speaking

One in three smokers in Scotland support new legislation that will outlaw lighting up in public places, figures have revealed. The number of smokers who support the move has gone from 19% to 33% in just three months. The statistics were revealed in the latest of a series of surveys commissioned by the Scottish Executive to measure support in the run up to the ban being brought in March next year. An increasing amount of smokers believe it will help them give up, with 14% saying they thought the ban would encourage them to quit in August, compared to 6% in May.

I agree with Crawsnest, I won't be going to any place that bans smoking, I'd rather stay at home.

The propaganda's certainly paying off for the anti's. Faith in the Big Lie has made smokers feel guilty; next comes the bans, then the intimidation. Burn him!

To see what we're facing, I suggest you pay this site a visit and vote in their highly scientific poll:

The Weekly Gripe

The poll question runs:
"Fed up smelling like a dirty ash tray? If you are then do you think it would be a good idea to ban smoking in public places?"

Which should give an indication as to the level of debate therein. The site appeals to a certain demographic, but it scores high on a Google for "passive smoking".

Such polls reveal more about the respondants than the subject.
How easily the public are led. Tell them what to believe, and voila, they believe it. And if you frame the question correctly they will agree to anything!

But even an inflated junk poll like this still only reveals a minority of public support for a ban. So why is a ban even being considered by a tyrranical law-making body?

These smokers are indoctrinated into believing that a prohibition will help them stop smoking. But not many will. It is a trap, and at the end of it lies denigration and their own demise. Funny how people can be enticed into carrying the cross to their own crucifiction. The same was seen with the jew pogroms just 60 years ago.
