5m vow to give up on No Smoking Day

A record number of smokers will try to kick the habit as part of this year's annual No Smoking Day, it was claimed last night. Research by NOP for No Smoking Day showed that 41% of smokers in the UK (five million people) were preparing to quit on March 8. It is the largest proportion of smokers ever to attempt to give up on National No Smoking Day, which has been running for 23 years.

Perhaps after the event Ash will provide the names of the 5 million that have given up and where they obtained the information from. That should prove interesting!

Well I will make sure I smoke double just for the day, because I find this as unbelievable as the rest of statements from ASH

Interesting isn't it that the Government claim that a total ban in pubs etc will encourage 500,000 people to quit smoking. That's by making it illegal forever, and yet a 1 day voluntary event will get 5 million of us doing it. WOW if they had 2 no smoking days we wouldn't need the law at all.
I was giggling so much I couldn't light up for nearly 30 seconds.

Yours.
Pete.

Complete distortion and fabrication of statistics - I do not know whether to laugh or cry.

Do we not have any investigative journalists left, who can challenge these ludicrous numbers?

The answer is No, as they never properly challenged the other statistics relating to passive smoking.

Maybe ASH could donate £1.00 for each of them to the struggling NHS, five million pounds.
Love Petes post in need of a laugh.
